HTEP - High Tech Entrepreneur Project

Introduction

The High Tech Entrepreneur Program (HTEP) is an experimental program where enterprising students, in a realistic business theme project, learn and practice entrepreneurship under the guidance of industry consultants and university professors. This one-year program is offered as an option in lieu of the "Final-Year Project" (FYP).  It is  composed of three elements: (1) Mandatory Interactive  Workshops and (2) Elective New Enterprise Lectures & Seminars, (3) Business-theme Project.  The innovative business themes may be proposed by innovative students themselves or selected from suggestions from industrial consultants. This white paper discusses the HTEP philosophy, program structure, operation, and its long-range goals. The program should be of special value to budding engineers who are interested in entrepreneurship but don't know what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur in the high-tech world.
